I focus my teaching first on understanding how you are currently approaching a problem, how you are reasoning and thinking through your work, and then building off of the base of knowledge you already have instead of teaching something completely new. It is vitally important that you feel comfortable enough to interject and discuss the problem if you ever feel lost, so I work hard to create a relaxed environment where you do not feel intimidated. You should be able to walk away from each lesson feeling as though progress has been made, and I work to support this incremental change.
I am an Industrial Engineer who grew up in Austin and graduated from Georgia Tech in 2018. I have been tutoring for nearly 8 years, and have been heavily involved for the past 3. I have helped students raise their grades on average by a full letter grade in the course being tutored, and students that I have coached have been accepted into top schools including MIT, Stanford, University of Michigan, and Rice. While my academic experience was largely hard science based I also have a great appreciation for the arts, and during my time at GT found myself mostly tutoring English/rhetoric, and even saxophone.
I have no special/hidden fees, but my rate is flexible if payment ever becomes an issue. I travel fairly frequently with work and so there may be times where it's necessary to reschedule. I should always know my plans a week in advance, which should allow time to plan a make-up session.
