Methodology

As a tutor, I want to meet the needs of my students by providing a variety of teaching methods to maximize each student’s learning potential. I have worked with students as young as 5th grade up to undergraduate college students. I utilize one-on-one sessions, peer collaboration, teacher-student goal setting and check-ins, and creative lesson plans to best reach my students. I cover many English topics, however my strongest skills are essay content preparation and research techniques, thesis writing, and editing. I also offer help with organization and planning methods that promote self-discipline, time management, and effective studying.

I am a recent University of California, Santa Barbara graduate with a B.A. in English and a minor in Italian. I also was an active member in Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and held multiple leadership positions during my 4 years in college. I have taken an array of English courses and have 4 years of experience in writing, editing, and public speaking.

Cancellation Policy: To respect both the student’s and my time, please give a 24 hour notice if you need to cancel. There will be a 10 minute grace period before sessions, however if there is a no-show without prior notice, I may refuse to offer service to you in the future.
