For math, I want to help you understand the topics and concepts you are working with, no matter what they are. We can work on learning new concepts for school, a class, or work, or go over troubling ones that you need some help with. We could also go through practice examples if you have a test coming or any assignments. For teaching and tutoring math, I focus on explaining things thoroughly and clearly, but as simply as possible. You can get this stuff, but its just a matter of wrapping your head around it in the right way and getting a good grasp on it. I know from my own learning that everyone does it a little differently, so I try my best to get on the same page as my students so that we can figure out what works best for you. We'll go at whatever pace is best, and talk through things whichever way feels the most comfortable and beneficial. I have a similar approach when teaching music as well.
I studied mathematics in college at Northeastern University in Boston and did a music minor. I tutored math through high school and college, and worked with younger students as part of an afterschool program for 2 years. I also worked in an elementary school in Brookline, MA as a teachers aide, mostly working with 5th and 6th grade math classes and with students individually and in small groups. I'm happy to help with a variety of math classes and subjects, and I love to work and talk with younger kids from elementary and middle school up through early college math classes, adults too!
I'm always willing to be flexible with pricing and schedules, we can talk about it anytime
