About William

I have a BS in Biology and a PhD in Basic Medical Sciences with a specialization in biochemistry. As part of my training, I completed the same basic science course work (gross anatomy, neuroanatomy, histology, embryology, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology and pathology as required of medical students during the first 2 yrs of MD program. I have been engaged in biomedical research either in the lab or administratively in clinical research for 40 years. Thirteen of those years was spent teaching medical students through both formal lectures and in small group case presentations and discussions.

My teaching method is to define what an individual student's educational needs are and to tailor an approach that meets those needs. This approach would consist of breaking the subject matter down, providing a framework/outline to aid in comprehension, discussion of the subject matter presented and asking questions/testing to ensure understanding of the subject matter.
