About the lesson
My teaching method is person to person discussion customized to the student. Explanations are tailored to the student's level of understanding and background. Providing the intuition behind the mathematics is necessary for students to do well. I excel at that.

About Robert
I am a retired Professor of Finance who enjoys tutoring grades 6 through first-year college in mathematics. I particularly like figuring out how to present topics in ways that meet the needs of particular students. I like to see the “light bulb go off”. I have tutored or been a teacher for over 30 years.
I started off in college as a physics major, with a minor in math, but switched to finance after one year of graduate school. I worked for many years in the investment management business, mostly figuring out how to apply mathematics and computers to investing, but also teaching investment professionals about quantitative investment concepts. Later, I taught undergraduate and graduate Finance at Fordham University and other schools.
I have been an Associate Editor of several professional journals, including the Financial Analysts Journal and the Journal of Investment Management. I have a Ph.D. in Finance and Economics from NYU. I have published over 50 papers in professional and academic journals.
