Teaching has always been my passion and I enjoy the exchange shared between my students and myself, when my teaching techniques --- hands on approach through research --- and their individual learning styles connect and we are off on our journey to expanding our minds!!
All together my teaching experiences have spanned over 20 years, both teaching in public school for ten years and homeschooling my daughter. My student size varied; Homeschool- one student, although we interacted with other homeschoolers; My PSEN ( Pupils with Special Educational Needs ) class- twelve students; My Honors and Integrated class rooms- 25 to 29 students.
As a result of my teaching experiences, all of my students have graduated from high school, many went on to college --- including my daughter and four of her siblings --- and according to my correspondence with quite a few students on Facebook, they have families, satisfying careers and happy lives; the later being most important of all !!
Career wise, I am a retired school teacher and as such, I have realized the importance of becoming a Lifelong Learner, so I obtained my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Feeling the need to address the lack of creativity in our schools curriculum, I became highly motivated to develop an accountable student-centered curriculum that would allow our children to develop their own specific learning style and sense of self, through academics, while learning to successfully find their direction through life. This philosophy has propelled me to personally develop my own self-identity and pursue my passion; Creative Writing.
Continuing on academically, I obtained my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction within educational parameters, and used my expertise to develop an effective and motivating Homeschooling Program for two of my children. Hearing about the program, a friend encouraged me to share some ideas with other Homeschoolers and this interaction became the basis for my college thesis; eventually leading to an Anti-Bullying campaign, earmarked for our school system.
With my college days behind me, I continued writing and actively began working on my own autobiography, which was put on hold when I began writing for Bookreporter.com. In this position, I read and wrote reviews for new authors, and at this point, became very interested in copy editing, so when a friend suggested I edit and ghost write a book with him, I jumped at the chance.
For the next three years I edited three more books for this newly published author and continue to edit some of his poetry books, but am also taking some time to edit my own autobiography, in which I share my adoption journey --- both as an adopted child and as an adoptee.

Determined the scholastic needs of each student through academic and physical assessments that integrated academic curriculum, physical skills and learning styles, allowing students to reach a variety of learning levels. Teaching workshops allowed me to successfully monitor learning goals, classroom management, student motivation and engaging learning activities.
