Retired teacher of English wishes to tutor in Gulfport/Biloxi, Harrison County, MS area.
Methodology
My teaching method varies according to the age and academic level of the student or the class. For younger ages a lot of repetition is used. For older students I use a combination of "pattern" teaching and repetition. Literature is best taught as critical thinking exercises.
Background
I am a retired English teacher with almost 20 years experience teaching grades 3-12 basic grammar, literature, and honors program. I have taught in the traditional classroom, in smaller summer school remedial programs, and in one on one tutoring programs.
