In addition to prescribed curricula, I base my lessons on real-life experiences and often use TPR (Total Physical Response) and realia to make language acquisition more accessible and meaningful. I demonsrate new structures, first giving students the opportunity to comprehend, then ask questions to generate responses of new structures.
I am a retired teacher. I taught secondary school French, English, and ESL for 34 years, with 31 in LAUSD. Most of my students went to college, some majoring in French and studying in France. Many have since chosen to become Facebook and real-life friends with me.
