About Debi

I am a rogue valley grown dance dreamer, high school, then lettered in dance @ U of O ( go ducks!!) Original member of "Kamikaze Kickers", then coached in Medford areas elementary through high school teams, gymnastics instructor & disco days fun. Rosettes Dance teams & classes ages 2-16+ for 29+ years in Portland metro area, as contractor or district/parks & rec. As employee or enrichment teacher. I'm also an avid parks passionate & like to volunteer/organize events in community...also love softball & umpiring youth & rec. Adult levels. I relocated following 2011 house fire. & Completed demolition myself, with community volunteers. 1800 costumes props, equipment survived, in storage, numbered sized ready to go, many bought from high school competitive or all star teams... We just gotta dance anytime in life...5678...chin up...

My teaching methods include variety of genres, including techniques for flexibility, strength, kenisthetic, anatomy/physiology awareness, vocabulary as well as use of non-verbal (ASL friendly) cues, improv/theatrical, props used, themes character based. All this while building team skills, choreography, community events, & including many folks who just love to dance or belong to an including, non-elitist teams or classes. Oh we shall hope to laugh out loud as much as possible. I try to use variety of senses & math, science, practical approaches for diverse , overlapping motivations in movement choreography. I often enjoy overall effect of large groups, or individual growth in dance team as a sport, as well as a passion to see, be, & do. Plus I prefer to educate & collaborate, rather than extreme competition based. That's for high school/college, so we prep those leaders in training & then I get to learn from my alumni as they grow as well. Ok,lead, follow or get out of the way as we are movers & individual parts to a whole thing... Are you ready for the challenge? All bodies welcome, no auditions, come one come all, but show up!!!
