« Jeff is one of the few people in my life that I can say helped shape me into the person I am. His passion and talent for teaching goes far beyond the classroom. Jeff is one of those teachers who really invests in you, and you believe he wants you to be great, because he does. Jeff knows how to push people in just the right way that will unlock their true potential. I can only attribute this to his understanding of himself, and the love of the work that he does. With Jeff you are getting more than a teacher. He is a coach, a mentor, a role model, a unparalleled friend, but above all he is a teacher, and when you have a teacher like Jeff, the sky's the limit! »

Screenwriting / Creative Writing - Film, TV, Sketch Comedy, Theater, All Genres

Methodology

UCLA Graduate (BA)
Writer/Actor
I have written sketch comedy at Second City Hollywood
My most recent completed project is an animated pilot.
My projects in progress include a Feature Length Film and an Episodic TV series.

I grew up a keen observer of life with a particular fondness for self-reflection. Combine that with my vivid imagination and never ending sense of wonder and you've got a writer yearning to share his unique voice to the world. It took me years to overcome self-doubt and fear before I finally gained the courage to discover my voice as a writer and to share it through the wondrous art of story telling.

• I want to assist you in overcoming any obstacles that are standing in the way of you becoming the writer you are meant to be.
• I will familiarize you with the structure in storytelling so you may become more adept at sharing your unique voice and style to the world.
• I will guide you in discovering how you can develop a multitude of characters based on your own voice.
• You will learn the importance of character objectives and revelations, driving the scene forward, raising the stakes, developing relationships, world-building, knowing your audience, and exploring genres.

Background

I've been guiding writers for the past five years and I've been teaming with writers for over ten years.
I've taught writers one-on-one and I've taught writers in classrooms with as many as forty students.
I've seen students and colleagues go on to become professional writers and I've seen others gain the confidence and where with all to simply enjoy the art of writing.
