About the lesson

I believe we learn best in a supportive, encouraging environment. I want to make you feel comfortable and safe. I want to make sure you not only understand what we're covering, but that you're comfortable putting it to use in the real world.

If we're covering a programming topic, we'll typically start with some coverage of theory and then move on to pair programming in a development environment. My goal is to get your hands on a keyboard writing code as soon as possible.

For soft skills we'll go over what we're trying to accomplish and then do some role playing, which could be anything from a mock interview to an example of how to share your ideas in a meeting.

My specialty is helping junior and mid-level developers become senior level developers. Let's take your career to the next level!

About Jaybill

With over twenty years of experience as a professional software developer, I've worked on everything from big corporate middleware to high traffic, consumer facing web applications. I'm well-versed in a wide variety of programming languages from C and Go to JavaScript and Python and I have a strong background in computer science.

Software and technologies come and go. We laugh at the "cutting edge" things we did only a few years ago. To me, it's all about the people. There is no greater accomplishment for me than to see someone I've mentored go on to do great things and succeed on their own terms.
