Seven-Year High School English/AP Teacher in Tampa, FL ready to take your writing and literary analysis to the next level.

Methodology

I am passionate about helping students improve their writing, whether it's an argument, expository, or creative assignment. I ask questions before providing answers. My goal is to engage students' critical thinking skills and curiosity. My lessons will be geared to the assignments you have and the academic weaknesses you identify. I prefer to work with the texts your teachers assign and help you dive deeper into them, but I have a library of materials to help scaffold skills and knowledge as necessary. My diverse corporate and travel background helps me to make lessons relatable and connected to the "real world."

Background

I taught English for grades 9 - 11, including AP Lang and AP Seminar, for seven years it a high needs school. I consistently rated as a Highly Effective Teacher in Hillsborough County and my students' AP pass rates met or exceeded the national average.
