About Rykna
As a second-degree black belt in Shotokan karate, I bring both experience and passion to every lesson. I’ve been teaching children since I was 14 years old, which has given me a strong understanding of how to make karate both fun and disciplined. I’m patient, encouraging, and skilled at explaining techniques in clear, age-appropriate ways that help students feel confident as they learn. My focus is always on creating a positive and supportive environment where students feel safe, motivated, and excited to grow. I prioritize strong fundamentals, respectful discipline, and mental focus—core values of Shotokan that help students build confidence both inside and outside the dojo. My goal is to help every student progress at their own pace while still challenging them in meaningful and empowering ways.

Hi, I’m Rykna, a second-degree black belt in Shotokan karate. My teaching style is based on patience, discipline, and learning through proper technique. I adapt my approach to each student’s age, learning style, and confidence level. I focus strongly on building solid fundamentals—stances, strikes, blocks, and kata—because strong basics create strong martial artists.
Class structure
- Warm-up: Light cardio and stretching
- Basics: Stances, strikes, blocks, and kicks
- Kata/Sparring: Level-appropriate kata practice or sparring drills
- Focused Practice: Work on the student’s specific areas for improvement
- Cool-down: Stretching and quick review of progress
