My teaching approach is largely a result of the method that I teach; fun and adaptive. The Simply Music Method is based on the premise that everyone, without exception, is naturally musical. Traditional methods insist that beginners learn to read music as the means of learning to play. This removes the natural connection between student and instrument and commonly, it removes all the fun, too. In fact, expecting students to read music before they’ve learned to play is like expecting children to read and spell before they’ve learned to talk. In stark contrast, Simply Music temporarily delays reading and introduces a revolutionary, ‘playing-based’ approach – a body of unique concepts that unfold directly onto the keyboard, producing unprecedented results. With Simply Music, you experience the pleasure and satisfaction that comes from immediately playing a huge repertoire of great-sounding music.
I am a recent graduate of Berklee College of Music, where I focused on piano and majored in Songwriting with a minor in Production & Engineering. I've been playing piano for over 18 years, and have taught a variety of different instruments over the past several years. I'm currently based in Los Angeles, but will only be teaching virtually due to COVID19.

Skilled piano teacher focused on providing innovative, fun and inspiring instruction through the Simply Music Piano Program. This method varies from traditional reading-based approaches by focusing attention on learning to play and know the piano before introducing reading music. This has proven to increase the likelihood of having music as an integral part of one’s life for a much longer period of time. As someone who has been a piano student in both traditional methods and Simply Music, I can attest to the fact that this program fosters authentic musicianship and creativity, and will provide an amazing platform for students to discover or expand their musical abilities.

Ness singlehandedly has been the best teacher i've ever had! Their patience and understanding went a long way for me when I was struggling at the beginning of our lessons -- a few months later and i'm understanding and viewing music in a brand new way. I can't wait to show off my new piano skills!
Ness was an extremely helpful, kind, and fun teacher for my child learning piano. My child was actually excited to attend her lessons and walked away with a great knowledge and love for the piano. 10/10 would recommend Ness.
I couldn't recommend Ness more for anyone starting out piano or coming back to it after a few years! Ness makes our lessons super fun, and is always sure that I understand every step before we move onto the next one. I also can't believe how quickly I'm learning with the Simply Music Piano method; I learn a new song almost every lesson!
Ness is an amazing and patient teacher, and the Simply Music Piano method is so fun every step of the way! I love the variety of music that we learn, and how Ness really cares about incorporating learning songs that I actually listen to!
