About Robert

I have my associates degree in Sociology from San Antonio Community College, and I am currently finishing my Bachelor's degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences at CSUMB. At my community college I was an active member in the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society (3.2 GPA requirement), and I worked at the Writing Center on campus. Additionally, I worked for a program called the "Puzzle Project" where I worked with students on the autistic spectrum in a mentor/mentee setting to help students with their academic and social skills. I was also apart of the Bridge Program, which helped first generation minority students become acclimated and succeed throughout their college experience. My goals going forward are to finish my Bachelor's degree, apply for the Master program here at CSUMB for teaching, and pass my credentials classes.

I am very adaptable in terms of who I am teaching. My experience at the Writing Center on campus has taught me to have students come to me with whatever problems or dilemmas they are having, and finding creative ways to help student connect with what they are learning. My philosophy is that if there is no connection, there is no passion. My goal is to make each learning experience applicable to students lives in one way or another.
