Teaching methods are crucial, and I like to tailor them to every student depending on how best you can reap the benefits from my lessons. I employ the use of practice papers and essays that I will mark and read over with you in the lesson to show exactly where you can improve that grade. Struggling with forming coherent sentences? We can create sentence structure worksheets that will not only help you with preparing well-read essay writing but also how to use this in other subjects. I only teach GCSE and A-Level English Literature and I can assure you, we can get you to where you want to be. I am also super open to suggestion regarding how best YOU want to be taught and encouraged, with of course my own educational knowledge.
My love of literature has extended into the want to help those that want to improve in this beloved subject. Being a literature enthusiast, I can help you with anything from Shakespeare, Carol Ann Duffy to modern reads such as Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I've tutored English in the past where my students went from D/ E at GCSE to B/A.
I have been tutoring online now for around a year and my students have ranged from varying boards (Edexcel, AQA, etc) to SAT practice, my specialty is in English Literature A-Level and proudly, I can say my students have skyrocketed from D grades to high B's (and beyond) in just a matter of a few months. I am a passionate tutor focusing on creating specialty plans for each lesson as tailored to what my students need. Not only this, but my students love the friendly atmosphere I provide making it so easy for them to feel comfortable asking any questions.
I am a tenacious person, hoping to encourage and enthrall other students to enjoy literature just as much as I do and in the meanwhile, get fantastic grades. My hard-working, empathetic, personable and understanding personality will allow us, as student and teacher, to not only reap as many benefits from the lesson in order to starkly improve your ability and academic performance.
My main focus of teaching is around the pre-18 range, predominately GCSE and A-Level English Literature only.
My teaching methods are in part traditional and a bit 'against the tide', I want to make sure YOU have the best experience in our lessons and obtain as much useful information as you can. In my past experience, planning lessons prior to our session allows us to truly have the best experience. It is imperative therefore that the work set is done in order for me to best teach you where to improve and therefore you achieve the best grades. My sessions are very interactive, I won't just 'talk at you' but rather ask you what interests you in what we are doing, how you would perceive a certain ideology and also, incorporate your ideologies into how best to teach you.
My methodologies are concentrated on getting to know you as an academic and know how well I can tailor our lessons to best fit you. I believe that every student, of all abilities, is within great capabilities to obtain the best grades - but only if you are willing to put the work in with me.
Just for a bit of background about me, I have completed my GCSE's (12 at A-C) and my A-Levels (3 at A*AA) and am currently an undergrad at the University of Warwick!
