I like to teach first with a interactive lecture, followed by a progression of problem sets, which is how I loved to learn. I understand not everyone learns the same, so I am totally willing to change up my style.
I define interactive lecture as a talk/conversation between me and my student. I will present my information, then work through a couple sample problems with the student. Similar to a past teacher of mine, I will not complete the sample problems myself, but I will actually encourage the student to manually do everything, under my guidance. (i.e I will not say the answer, but I will try to give easier analogies and explanations, to break down the concept, if the student is stuck). A favorite quote from the past teacher, "It is better to suffer now, then to suffer later".
The homework assigned will not be a ton of work, and I will grade with feedback by the next class.
Hi, I'm Justin. I am a 15 year old student at a high ranked engineering STEM high school, based in New Jersey. I love teaching, working, learning, and (important) laughing.
A little about myself ~ In my spare time, I swim, play soccer, and video games. I admit to being a food fanatic. I have a younger brother, who is currently 9. I am inspired and motivated to serve and to give, to meet new people and to learn new lessons.
Academic Background ~
I have (limited but fair) knowledge in Electrical Engineering, Comp Sci, and AP Biology.
Computer Science: I know html + css, C++, and theoretical algorithms.
Mathematics: I have studied (in school) Algebra, Geometry with Trigonometry, and Algebra 2.
I have experience in competitive mathematics ~ including but not limited to, NJML, ASMA, CJML, HMMT, Purple Comet, AMC8, AMC10A & B, Math Madness.
I also am comfortable with Graph Theory, a related subject to theoretical comp sci, and a branch of math.
Engineering: I am primarily focused with electrical engineering, which is based around pure hardware and circuit analysis/building. This can take the form of analyzing resistance, capacitance, voltage, and current at various points in a circuit. I also have experience with hands-on building these circuits.
