I mainly give lessons to high schoolers, but am open to helping middle schoolers. As a tutor I like for the student to first share with me how I can best help them. If they are unsure we start with what they are most struggling with. I've found I've been able to help students get out of slumps in math and that they've really appreciated my advice on writing essays, whether for college or another course.
My degrees are in Product Design Engineering (BS) and Earth Systems (MS). Since high school I've been some sort of educator, from working at science museums with children to being a camp counselor at historic camps. At Stanford I worked one summer as a residential counselor and teaching assistant for high school students (for a technological history course) taking part in the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Institutes. During my masters I was a teaching assistant for an Environmental Communication course. I was a tutor with ESM Tutoring for a while.
