I teach to the needs of my individual student. I base my instruction not just on what they need to learn, but also how they learn. I try to use a variety of resources including hands on materials, pencil and paper, open discussions, or through the use of technology if applicable.
I have worked as a Kindergarten teacher and have seen the shift from focusing on addition and subtraction at age five towards developing number sense and understanding the relationship between numbers. By understand how numbers relate to eachother, students can better understand more complex processes like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals and so on. If you have an upper elementary or early middle school student struggling with math, by developing their number sense, they will have a better understand of a variety of math concepts.
Mr. Lambert taught my daughter in Kindergarten. He is patient and is amazing with kids!
James helped coach my son's wrestling team and was awesome with the kids! He was kind, patient, and kept not just his kids but also the whole team motivated! He was always quick to respond to emails and very professional. I would highly recommend using him as a math tutor!
