I like to find the root of the problem, and then work from there. In other words, see where the student is struggling and then ameliorate the student's understanding from there. Once I get to know the student better, I find the appropriate learning style for them (ex: hands-on, monkey-see-monkey-do, etc.) and apply that.
I am a high school student (junior). Although I don't have any professional experience, I often end up helping most of my classmates (they confide in me because they know I'm a 4.0 student). I've developed academic strategies in areas such as studying, time management, prioritizing, etc.
I've helped my classmates in all of those given areas, and then some. Having a tutor around a similar age as their student may help the student become more comfortable, yielding a better learning experience.
Due to my lack of experience, I don't want to charge too much.
