I don't believe in spoon-feeding answers to students; I try to guide them to their own conclusion by asking them questions about relevant material. I work with students in deconstructing historical events and documents to be able to analyze and write about them. For journalism, I like to look at the content (actual writing) and message separately.
I have been helping others with humanities, especially writing, for over five years. In addition to professional writers' workshops, I work with other students as an editor on our school newspaper. In working one-on-one with students, I get to watch them grow as analyzers, readers, and writers.
