I teach science to Middle School and High School Students, whenever there is a need for a teacher replacement (maternity or leave or sickness), or whenever a tutor is needed.
Each lesson has an objective, a do-now or question/issue learned recently, a review of homework given the previous day, a short lesson with presentation projected on the white board, an application/assessment to check/firm up understanding, and homework with prior needed explanation. I emphasize facts that must be known, pondered upon. and applied.
I have been teaching or substituting for teachers for since 2004. I earned my New Jersey licenses to teach chemistry, French and Middle School Math. My roster of students could reach up to 90 students in one single year, e.g., Millburn High School in 2004-2005.
My goal remains to instill grit in all students, grit being defined as the power of passion and perseverance.
