About Chasia

Hi there! I'm Chasia. I completed my undergraduate studies at UCLA and received my Master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Columbia University. I have been a teacher and tutor for 10+ years. I've worked with students of all ages in many subjects, such as ESL, TOEFL/ACT/SAT/GRE/AP test prep, math, reading comprehension, chemistry, and social studies. As a former Director of Student Success and Lead Teacher at an education company, I managed the individualized learning programs of hundreds of students and designed curricula to promote students' critical literacy development. Meanwhile, I also taught 100+ students of my own in one-on-one and small class settings.

In addition to private tutoring K-12 students as well as adults, I have also volunteered as an English conversation instructor for a large class of visiting scholars and international faculty at UCLA, taught intensive skills-based ESL courses to small groups of adults, as well as designed and implemented alternative solutions for distance learning during the pandemic as a founding teacher at an online middle and high school.

These experiences have shaped and refined my teaching style and my commitment to a learner-centered approach.
