I believe that learning should be fun and enjoyable, and my teaching philosophy reflects that. However, as the age old saying goes, I'm not going to give you a fish and feed you for a day. My responsibility is to teach you how to fish so you can feed yourself for a lifetime. In other words, I won't do your work for you. Apart from you not learning anything, the biggest part of my teaching philosophy is to uphold the highest ethical standards. Instead, I will ensure that you master the underlying concepts thoroughly and we'll work through your problems together. Don't worry though, tutoring with me will be nowhere near as boring as fishing! I customize my teaching methods, tailored to your personal learning style.
While I primarily tutor academia, I also provide other services as well! If you're a graduating high school or community college (CC) student and need help with your college applications, let me share my experiences with you! I know what the admission committees are looking for, and I was personally accepted to UCLA, UC Berkeley, UCSD, UCI, and USC. While I can't write your essays for you, let me help you find your voice and beautifully share your story!
I also offer coaching services as well, for high school and CC students. After going through high school and taking the community college route, I truly have been there and done that. I know what it's like, and I've come to learn many lessons that have substantially impacted me. As a reflection of those lessons learned, I began to share them with my peers and now I would like to share them with you as well!
Hi, I’m Aaron! I’ve been a private tutor for over 5 years now, and have helped many students apply and get accepted into top colleges as a college consultant. I provide only the highest quality boutique tutoring/coaching experience for my clients in and around the San Marino area in Los Angeles, and I’m excited to work with you!
In terms of my specialties beyond consulting and coaching, I graduated cum laude from UCLA this year as a computational biologist and am particularly adept at all levels of biology, chemistry up to organic chemistry, and all levels of high school mathematics. I also graduated with a Philosophy minor (and was an auditing student at Caltech for philosophy of science), so I can tutor any philosophical subjects or reading/writing courses as well.

Aaron is a top-notch tutor. Our experience (so far) is with middle school pre-algebra and algebra, but I know he tutors in other subjects as well. Aaron’s impact goes beyond just the academics. I appreciate his mentorship to our daughter, and the fact that he approaches each session with professionalism and in a very measured, thoughtful, and thorough manner. He has been really flexible (which we really appreciate!) and is super savvy in ensuring effective online/remote session. A pleasure to work with; would wholeheartedly recommend.
My experience with Aaron was amazing. I started coaching with Aaron because I needed help with my transfer essays. I was confused on what to write about, but he was extremely knowledgeable about the college admissions process. He helped me form my application so that it showcased my best qualities. Thanks to Aaron, I was accepted to UCLA, UC Berkeley, and many other top universities! He was also my life coach and acted as a catalyst for my personal development. I highly recommend Aaron as a life and college coach!
