I make sure you know 'why' you arrive at the answers you obtain. I will help you to explain how you solved a problem and how you can solve other problems based on the knowledge skillset I help you obtain. In short, I don't teach you WHAT to think—I teach you HOW to think.
Ph.D. Chemist. Industry and Academic Experience. Have mentored university chemistry students for 25 years. My students excelled on standardized American Chemical Society exams (demonstrating their competence). I have tutored thousands of chemistry students; I can help you excel in chemistry as well!
To conduct a simultaneous tutoring session with multiple students in the same subject, I offer an hourly discount that we can negotiate up front (and I'm pretty flexible in this regard). In short, I can help you learn and enjoy chemistry…take the fear out of an often troublesome subject. I've done it for years and I can help you.
2012–current—Freelance Scientific Editor
2018-2020—Analytical Chemist; LexaMed (Medical Testing Company)
2012–2017—Chemistry Professor, University of Findlay
2005–2012—Chemistry Professor, Wilkes University

Supervisory: Directed undergraduate and graduate students from Senior projects to graduate dissertations and/or theses. Trained undergraduate students in modern laboratory best practices as well as common and specialized chemical instrumentation (pH meters, burets, volumetric glassware, etc.) Also trained students in more sophisticated synthetic methods (such as high-vacuum, Schlenck, inert-atmosphere glove-box) and spectroscopic characterization processes (such as IR, NMR, UV-vis, GC-MS).
Laboratory Experience: Expert in common bench chemical syntheses/processes. Expert user of common bench instrumentation (pH meters, titrations, Spec-20 etc.) as well as routine spectroscopic characterization processes such as IR, NMR, UV-vis, GC-MS, TLC, HPLC, AA and DSC. Also trained in specialized inorganic synthesis techniques: high-vacuum, Schlenck, and inert-atmosphere/glove-box.
Taught myriad chemistry courses: General Chemistry (& labs), Inorganic Chemistry, Integrated Laboratory (upper division lab sequence) Environmental Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry (&lab), Quantitative Analysis, Organic Chemistry Lab sequence and several different special topics courses in chemistry. Metals in Medicine, Organometallic Chemistry, Advanced Inorganic (3), Synthesis&Characterization, Bio-inorganic Chemistry.
