My teaching philosophy is to make sure the students have a solid foundation before new concepts are presented. With that said, I allow students to move as fast as they desire. One of my eight-year-old students completed two books over the course of one summer. It allowed him to start learning in the school district two years ahead of schedule.
I started giving lessons when I was 15 years old. My past students have been granted scholarships for college and have been in local symphonies. I specialize in preparing students for college scholarships. In 2010 I headed up a summer string program in our school district which provided free private and group lessons to students for the summer. Attendance was 50% higher than in previous programs. It concluded with a concert for parents and then for a retirement community.
I started piano at five, violin at nine.

Klea is a person with vision, and she accomplishes what she sets out to do! Klea is a marvelous teacher because she instills in her students the love of music and the importance of making goals and steps to reach them. Klea is a fine musician and I've had the great honor of playing with her in both Symphony and Chamber music. She is always well-prepared. She has a joyful way about her! She has accomplished much in her life, and has overcome difficult obstacles with grace.
I have known Klea for about 20 years. We have played in the Powder River Symphony and in chamber music groups together. She is kind and professional in all her dealings with people. She organizes and plans, then follows through and completes projects in a timely and efficient manner.
