My teaching method is individualized and small group ("job clubs") with emphasis on hands-on skills, interest/values clarification assessments, use of published market research, individualized portfolio/resume development, mock interviews, and networking. Students will gain insight into the compatibility of their aspirations with the realities of the world of work, and acquire key in-demand skill sets for their chosen career. In addition, students will be provided study skills and training methods.
I have a Master's degree in counseling and vocational guidance; have been a case manager for hundreds of displaced or under-employed individuals, assisting in occupational exploration, job placement, educational planning and labor market analysis. I have provided job-seeking skills training, employer development, transitional job creation, financial aid direction, college and vocational school guidance.
