In my experience as a tutor and camp counselor, the most effective way to teach students is to first and foremost create a comfortable space with open communication. I have most experience tutoring and mentoring elementary school students, but am confident my skills can translate to high school and college students, as well. My approach to teaching coding languages includes a theoretical understanding of the code but I believe the best way to improve is with hands-on practice through mini projects.
I spent four years coding in Java and became a Computer Science Teacher's Assistant in high-school. During my fours years at Wesleyan University, I became proficient in Python and worked as a math tutor for middle school students at the local elementary school. I have continued my studies post-grad through online courses and independent projects.
