About Mary

Graduated from college with a BA in Education, an MA in English, and an MS in Education with an emphasis in Reading

Have 21 years of teaching experience at the middle school level

Have experience teaching special needs students along with certificate and experience teaching gifted students

Have total of 10 semesters of teaching college as an adjunct instructor

I have worked in the classroom for 21 years. Many students in my room have scored the highest grade the state gives for writing. Also, I have been honored 3 times to listed as the teacher who has made the greatest impact on the student when considering every teacher they have had K-12. I happily worked with my students and those in other classes after school.

Also, I have been an adjunct instructor teaching Comp. 1 and 2, Classic Lit., American Lit., and English Lit. I worked with students after class who needed more instruction. Parents of some classroom students have asked for my help as they reached for their dream of having a college degree. I was more than happy to assist when I could.

I have a BA in Education. Included in the classes taken are many psychology classes which help me to work well with others.

I have an MA in English. This made me stronger in grammar and writing. I have been able to use that knowledge to teach students as a group and individually. Using technology and other classroom material, I have helped people with spelling rules, proper grammar, sentence structure, and paragraph structure.

While getting the English degree, it was required that I get 52 credit hours in literature. I learned how to analyze literature and to respond to what was read.
My belief in the importance of education makes me a great candidate for working with others one-on-one to assess and assure me that they are learning.

This led me to wanting a degree in teaching reading, so I earned an MS in Education with an emphasis in Reading.
