Methodology

I would describe my style of teaching as detail-oriented, with a focus on understanding. It is important to me that the student actually understands what we are working on. I am aware that every person learns differently, therefore, I like to work with the individual personally and come up with the best approach for that person specifically.

Generally speaking, I like to first and foremost make sure the student thoroughly understands the principles and elements of design. To me, that is the number one thing to being a strong graphic designer. Once the student is comfortable with the "rules" of design, if you will, they will be able to appropriately and intentionally apply what they've learned to any and every design they ever create.
