I start with goal setting. Each child/teen is different. Then I present the material in a thoughtful manner and make sure they are comfortable talking through it with me or asking when they don’t understand. It’s a back and forth and then when they are confident, they can try a few things in practice. I wrap up by telling them what direction we will be going in next time.
I am an English and history major at Drake University with a concentration in Women’s and gender studies. I love kids and healing them learn.
