Using different websites can greatly help you prepare for your AP Calculus exams. While you should start preparing for your exam one to three months before, you have an entire year to look forward to. Using the internet as a study resource will help you greatly.

An advantage to using the internet is you can study the AP Calculus material when you want, where you want. If you are in your car on the way to baseball practice or on the way with your family to a weekend getaway you can use your laptop or cell phone to study. There are great websites to use that have specific AP Calculus resources as well. Here are a few:

CollegeBoard is the administering body of AP Calculus exams, such as SAT exams. Luckily they also provide resources to help you prepare for the exam. The Collegeboard website offers past exam questions that you can use to study from(which is another topic you will read about further on). CollegeBoard also has PDFs available that have exam guides, and course overviews. As CollegeBoard are the ones that create the exam, it isn’t such a terrible idea to get AP Calculus practice and information straight from the horse's mouth.

  • Youtube

There are also plenty of instructional videos on how to prepare for your AP Calculus exams. There are videos to give you tips and tricks on how to study for your exam and plan your time wisely.

The verified channel Advanced Placement also goes over the mathematical content that you’ll be going over in your course, which is what will appear on your exam. You definitely have this resource available at your fingertips at any time, using your Youtube app on your cell phone you’ll be able to watch and listen anytime and anywhere you want.

There are various other Youtube channels that have videos that breakdown the different concepts such as Limits and Continuity, Differentiation, and Contextual Application of Differentiation, as well as the other material you will need to study. Finding videos that breakdown how to solve these problems completely will be a huge help.

  • The Princeton Review

The Princeton Review also has great study guides for AP exams. They offer a lot of content and interactive help to study and practice throughout your course. They even offer textbooks that you can buy. The website also gives great advice for those preparing for college.

  • intmath

Another great website that offers interactive learning. A great website that offers information that you can study and practice with. If you need to understand the specific concepts of AP Calculus it has a lot of information available. Intmath is very easily navigable and goes into detail about each concept from functions to differentiation to graphs. Also if you need a refresh on earlier subjects such as Algebra they have that as well.

Using different AP Calculus prep books is another excellent way to prepare for your exam, and use as a study resource during your year. You will be able to find prep books and exam guides over the internet. Whether you are taking the AP Calculus or AB or BC course you will be able to find material. From the Princeton Review to Barron’s there are different companies that offer prep books to use during your course.

Using the prep book as a reference throughout your course will be a big help. As you navigate through your AB or BC course and go through the various themes of AP Calculus you can use your prep book as an invaluable AP Calculus resource. When you arrive at limits, for example, you can use your prep book to help you practice limits, and read the different explanations your prep book has to offer.

Past exams that can help you pass

Another excellent AP Calculus resource are the exams that are available to you from those taken over the past years. As mentioned before, CollegeBoard offers you the chance to work with past AP Calculus AB and BC exams as practice before you take your exam. With past exams you can:

  • Practice the Free response questions
  • Review the answers
  • See how exams are scored in detail

This makes past exams an invaluable AP Calculus resource for you to use. The CollegeBoard past exams offer PDFs with the three aforementioned materials. Being able to use these as a study tool will help a lot, as you’ll have seen into the minds of those who are going to score your exam.

Your AP Calculus Teacher

Of course you are just one of however many students in your class, and you have your designated class times. Normally in schools though, teachers will offer extra help after class. During your period of AP Calculus during your school day it may be difficult for your teacher to specifically answer all of your doubts.

If your teacher offers a period of time whether it is 45 minutes, one hour, or more you can try to take advantage of this time and go over the material you’ve learned again with your teacher. Having this extra time will help your teacher explain things in his or her own words and you can get the extra help that will make sure you do the best you possibly can when it comes to exam time.

AP Calculus Tutors

Finally seeking professional help in a one-on-one situation is another situation that is a sure fire way to help you stand out in your AP Calculus class, and help you get a four or five on your AP Calculus exam. Teachers offering after-school help is great, but usually, this will be in a group setting. While this has the advantage of you being able to study and practice with your peers and the person that is teaching you throughout the year it doesn’t offer one-to-one help that a tutor does. Getting all the attention from a professional is especially helpful!

You can find AP Calculus tutors in your area, as well as online. Superprof has qualified AP Calculus tutors that will be willing to help you, those that have taken AP Calculus already, as they are teachers or current college students. A tutor can explain the process and exams as they have done it themselves, possibly even recently. At Superprof you can find the tutor right for you. There will be different options to find tutors that can meet with you in person or even have classes online! Many of the tutors even offer the first lesson free!

After having read all of the different AP Calculus resources it can be a great assurance to you as a student that you will have so many different options available to help you get a good score on your exam. Any of these options can be of great help and make sure while you’re studying AP Calculus AB or BC course. Understanding that you have different resources available to you can assure you that you can do a great job understanding the concepts of AP Calculus and how to take the exam.

For some using a tutor may seem more attractive than using a prep book, while for others it may be the complete opposite. You also have the choice to use different or all the materials you possibly can for your AP Calculus course.  We also have the comfort that most of these resources we can use in the car, in our homes, with a friend at school. Luckily we live in a time where these AP Calculus resources are made available to you at any time and any place, you have it all to get the highest grade possible!
