The CompTIA Network+ exam costs $399 for a single voucher from the CompTIA Store. A voucher that includes one retake costs $519. Bundles that add CertMaster study tools run from $548 to $978.
Older guides, including CompTIA’s own blog, still quote a $369 retail price. The store charged $399 when we checked on Oct 5, 2026, so budget for the higher figure. This guide breaks down every fee, from study tools to retakes and renewal.

How Much Does Each Network+ Option Cost?
CompTIA sells Network+ in three ways: a voucher on its own, a voucher with a retake, or a bundle with study tools. Every voucher is a single-use code that you redeem to book the exam. The table below lists the US prices for each option.
Price list
CompTIA Network+ Prices at the CompTIA Store
| Option | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Network+ Voucher | $399 | One exam attempt, valid for 12 months |
| Voucher Plus Retake Assurance | $519 | One exam attempt plus one retake |
| Practice and Exam Bundle with Retake | $548 | Voucher with retake, CertMaster Practice |
| Learn and Exam Bundle with Retake | $916 | Voucher with retake, CertMaster Learn |
| Complete Bundle with Retake | $978 | Voucher with retake, CertMaster Perform and Practice |
| CertMaster Study | $144 | Self-paced study resource covering every exam objective |
| CertMaster Labs | $189 | Browser-based hands-on labs |
| CertMaster Practice | $209 | Timed and untimed practice tests |
| CertMaster Learn | $499 | Interactive self-paced course with videos and guided labs |
| CertMaster Perform | $664 | Lessons, video, and scenario-based hands-on practice |
US list prices on the CompTIA Store, checked Oct 5, 2026. Vouchers and bundle items must be used within 12 months of purchase. Full references in the Sources section.
Bundles cost less than buying the same items one by one. CertMaster Learn plus a retake voucher would cost $1,018 separately, while the Learn bundle is $916. The Complete bundle saves even more: its three parts add up to $1,392 on their own, against a bundle price of $978.
A retake voucher is worth a thought if you feel unsure. CompTIA charges the full exam price for every attempt and offers no discount on retakes. Paying $120 more up front for Retake Assurance costs far less than a second $399 voucher.
How Can You Pay Less for the Network+ Exam?
The list price is not the only price. CompTIA itself points candidates to several ways to bring the cost down.
- Student discounts: actively registered students can get 35% to 55% off in the CompTIA Store.
- Bundles: buying a voucher with study tools costs less than buying each item separately.
- Training and college courses: some eligible programs cover up to 100% of the voucher.
- Employer reimbursement: many IT employers pay for job-related certifications.
- Flash sales: CompTIA runs limited-time promotions, with discounts that vary.
Timing matters too. A voucher stays valid for 12 months from the day you buy it. Pick a target exam date before you pay, so your study plan and your voucher expire on your terms.
Network+ vouchers and every item in a bundle must be redeemed within 12 months of purchase. Buy when you are ready to commit to a study schedule, not months before.
What Does the Network+ Exam Cover?
CompTIA Network+ is a vendor-neutral certification that shows you can set up, manage, and troubleshoot networks. The current version, N10-009, launched on June 20, 2024. It added topics such as zero-trust architecture, software-defined networking, and infrastructure as code.
Network+ equips employees with the foundational network security skills crucial for identifying vulnerabilities, managing network access, and implementing network security controls.
Teresa Sears, vice president of product management at CompTIA
The exam has a maximum of 90 questions and lasts 90 minutes. It mixes multiple-choice items with performance-based questions, which ask you to solve problems in a simulated environment. You need a score of 720 on a scale of 100 to 900 to pass.
Questions fall into five domains, each with a fixed share of the exam.
- Networking Fundamentals: 23%
- Network Implementations: 20%
- Network Operations: 19%
- Network Security: 14%
- Network Troubleshooting: 24%
You can sit the exam at a Pearson VUE test center or online through OnVUE. Online testing needs a working webcam, a stable connection of at least 6 Mbps download, and a quiet room where you stay alone. CompTIA expects this exam version to retire in 2027, about three years after launch.
CompTIA recommends that candidates hold A+ and have 9 to 12 months of hands-on experience first. That experience might come from a junior network administrator or network support technician role. It is a recommendation, not a requirement.
Which CertMaster Tools Help You Prepare?
CompTIA publishes its own Network+ study tools under the CertMaster name. Each one suits a different stage of preparation, so most candidates need only one or two.
- CertMaster Study ($144): a self-paced resource that covers 100% of the exam objectives.
- CertMaster Learn ($499): an interactive course with lessons, videos, and guided labs, built for learning from the ground up.
- CertMaster Labs ($189): browser-based labs that let you complete tasks in real IT environments.
- CertMaster Practice ($209): timed and untimed practice tests that pinpoint your weak spots.
- CertMaster Perform ($664): a full course that combines lessons, video, and scenario-based hands-on work.
Practice works best near the end of your preparation, once you have covered the material. If you learn better with a person guiding you, a private tutor can help you work through subnetting or troubleshooting scenarios at your own pace.
How Do You Renew Network+, and What Does It Cost?
CompTIA Network+ stays valid for three years from the day you pass the exam. To renew it without retaking the exam, you earn 30 continuing education units (CEUs) during that three-year cycle. You also pay a continuing education fee of $150 for the three-year period.
The quickest route is a single activity that covers all 30 CEUs at once.
- Complete the CompTIA CertMaster CE course for Network+, which costs $199 and takes 8 to 10 hours.
- Earn a higher-level CompTIA certification.
- Earn a qualifying non-CompTIA IT certification from vendors such as Cisco, Microsoft, or Red Hat.
- Pass the latest version of the Network+ exam.
You can also combine several smaller activities. At least 50% of each activity’s content must relate to one or more Network+ exam objectives. CompTIA lists the qualifying non-CompTIA IT industry certifications on its website.

- Earn non-CompTIA IT industry certifications
- Complete training and higher education
- Take part in IT industry activities
- Publish a relevant article, white paper, blog post, or book
- Gain related work experience
Missing the deadline has a cost. CompTIA allows a 30-day grace period after expiration to submit outstanding fees or CEUs. After that, you must pass the latest exam version to regain the certification.
