About Korie
I am celebrating 15 years of getting to play the trombone. One of the best lifelong decisions I have made thus far. With this, I have been able to travel all over the country and make an astounding amount of big music connections that I will cherish for a lifetime. Getting to meet some of the greatest directors and musicians in the world has always inspired me to want to be at their level of musicianship and teaching experience. I want the future of band students to know that they have an opportunity to participate in one of the best career fields out there. Also, I want music to be an outlet for them to freely express themselves, get to learn new musicians and genres, while creating a sense of their own musicianship. Overall, I pride myself on always striving to create an open dialogue with music as I believe that everyone should have a chance to experience the science behind music at least once if not at least create an appreciation for it!

I am open to helping assist with getting ready for the next band season, all-district/all-state prep, creating chamber groups or trombone choirs, aiding with festival music, and anything of the sorts. I would also like to make myself available to come help in between or around my classes on campus. If your student needs help during band, I am happy to sit in and practice parts with them as well! A typical lesson is exactly an hour. Each lesson is taught in 3 parts- Warm up, Etudes, then Solo or Ensemble rep. My lessons can be tailored from beginners with no experience through the collegiate level. I believe in my lessons as I value the student before the music. I want them to be able to set attainable goals for themselves whilst having respect for what they do. Most importantly, I want them to thoroughly enjoy what music they get to study and produce and get to know music as a way of participating in a large, positive, and open community!
