About Rowelanne
I studied Japanese at ANU and have lived in Japan for a total of 4 years. I hold the second highest level of fluency (N2) in the Japanese Langauge Proficiency Test, (but I'm nowhere near perfect yet!). In Japan, I taught English to all demographics from toddlers to senior citizens, and all situations from schools, community groups and individuals in their home. I would like to combine these skills together and be a Japanese teacher in Australia. I will commence my Masters in TESOL and Foreign Language Teaching in February 2019 at University of Canberra and would like to commence gaining experience in the field as soon as possible.

I try to adapt my teaching methodology to the needs of the student(s). I have the most experience with teaching groups of students through games. I also try to incorporate my musical talents to create more memorable teaching moments. For one on one situations, I work to build a relationship of trust and teach through trying to cater to their interests. In general, when learning a language, repetition is key, and making mistakes are necessary so I also try to create a comfortable environment that eliminates embarrassment and boredom.
