About Elisa

I hold a PhD in the History of Art from the Warburg Institute, University of London, with a special focus on the Italian Renaissance and the early modern period. My interests, however, extend well beyond this field, and I enjoy engaging with art from antiquity and the medieval world through to contemporary practice.
Over the past four years, I have gained extensive teaching experience as an Art History lecturer in both Italy and the UK. I currently teach a museum-based module at University College London, where I guide students in exploring London’s rich artistic heritage through direct engagement with its collections. Alongside this, I also teach Art History to 16–18 year olds at a school outside London, equipping them with the skills and confidence to master the subject.
My teaching practice is complemented by significant experience in assessing and grading exams and essays, ensuring fair, constructive, and rigorous evaluation of student work. I have also taught History of Art A level extensively, both as a private tutor and through partnerships with several educational charities.
As an empathetic and dedicated teacher, I place great importance on fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment, one that responds to each student’s unique needs. My approach is collaborative and engaging, designed to cultivate critical thinking, creativity, and a lasting appreciation of art in its many forms.

As an experienced teacher in History of Art with a solid background in both Italian and UK educational settings, I am happy to offer my expertise in delivering engaging and in-depth classes tailored to the specific needs of students. My classes are designed for school and university students, and each session lasts for one hour. With an understanding of the importance of individualised instruction, I aim to create a dynamic learning environment that fosters student growth and development.

In addition to supporting academic skills, I place particular emphasis on developing students’ visual analysis abilities—helping them to observe, interpret, and articulate the formal, stylistic, and contextual features of artworks with clarity and confidence.

Whether it's assisting with homework, providing essay corrections and detailed feedback, refining argument and structure, or offering guidance on thesis topics, my goal is to ensure that every student receives the support they need to excel.
