About James R
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Painting, three Master's degrees in Art History, History and Library Science and I have completed my coursework for a PhD in the Art of India. I have extensive teaching experience. My degree in library Science affords me the knowledge needed for conducting research on different subjects which I can pass along to my students. Many articles relevant to a student's study of Art History are writtenin a languageother than English. For those wishing to pursue and advanced degree, a reading knowledge of French and German are typically required.

The initial step of learning occurs through repetition. Progress is developed through expansion of the initial concepts to the philosophical ideas inherent in the subject. In terms of The History of Graphic Design, one first learns the names of the key figures associated within a specific time period then advances to how those figures coalesce into a design movement. In terms of Asian Art, one is instructed in the hierarchy of the Buddhist religion then proceeds to how that religion manifests itself in terms of physical objects.
In terms of languages, I have studied German (1 year), French (5 years plus), Spanish (2 years), and Chinese (10 plus years). Again, one's study of a foreign language begins with learning the basics starting with easy phrases of introduction to which one adds simple principles of grammar. Each lesson reviews and expands upon the previous lesson adding new vocabulary and grammatical points including the conjugation of verbs.
