About Katja
Katja, an award-winning pianist and composer from Seoul, South Korea, has garnered recognition at the Zoetermeer Jazz Concours in The Netherlands. She holds degrees from Seoul Institute of the Arts and furthered her studies at the Royal Conservatory (BA) and Amsterdam Conservatory of Music (MA) in the Netherlands. Katja has an extensive performance history as a jazz pianist across Europe, including in Belgium, Germany, France, Hungary, Lithuania, and Greece. Her teaching expertise was refined through assistant teaching roles at the Royal Conservatory. Her debut album, released last year, received acclaim on numerous European radio stations. Recently, Katja relocated to Edgewater in Chicago.

As a piano teacher, I customise my lessons to match each student's personal musical tastes, balancing fundamental techniques with the freedom to develop their artistic expression.
I welcome students to select pieces that inspire them, ensuring our sessions are engaging and tailored to individual preferences. We will concentrate on both reading music and playing by ear, helping you to craft your distinct musical voice.
Lessons are available in durations of 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 1 hour, each offered at a proportional price.
