I am a Korean language learner myself, so right now I can only teach the basics of Hangeul, past-present-future tenses, sentence structure, and elementary subjects such as colors and numbers. I throw tidbits of the culture into our lessons and can make references to Korean music, food, and dramas if you are interested. We can work through book materials, self-created lessons, Youtube videos, or make something up along the way :)
I've been learning Korean since 2018 with the help of Talk To Me In Korean, YouTube influencers, and my Korean friends. I was introduced to the culture through K-Dramas in 2014, which then introduced me to K-Pop, Korean food, and Korean culture. I moved to Atlanta's Koreatown in 2019 and have since attended Korean-English language exchange meetings, Korean concerts, festivals, and have been hired as a Guest Emcee and Event Host by the Korean Television Network of Atlanta. My friends have taken several Beginner Korean lessons with me and within 4 weeks they are able to independently create sentences based on their interests.
An amazing actress and an amazing teacher! I have worked with Gem personally on multiple projects and in settings with children and young adults, and she is always willing to go the extra mile.
