Earlier there was Guru - Shishya Parampara, where a student used to stay with Guru for several years, since it needs lot of dedication and perseverance. Art is not mere entertaining, but it's an education, it has been considered as academic subject, as it includes all kinds of combined knowledge and adds a lot to make one's mental state prosperous and healthy. It’s a spiritual journey all together.
Dance and music are the performing art forms. To learn under a professional artiste who is also a prime performer in the field, makes the difference, they would be updated with the skills. The main motto here is to encourage and educate the aspirants.
