Achievements:
- Personal coach of Samuel Dallaporta, participant in the Chessboxing World Championships (6th edition, October 2024).
- Personal coach of Kamil Oubbea, youngest qualifier for the French National U8 Championships (qualification in February 2025, championships upcoming).
- Personal coach of Cael Stander, 3rd place at the South African National U10 Championships and future participant in the U10 World Championship.
I coach students of all levels, however. I also offer an intensive program designed for students aiming to become competitive quickly. If you sign up for this program and fail to meet your goal, I commit to refunding half of the course fees.
This program requires a minimum commitment of 2 hours of lessons per week, alongside dedicated personal work.
Of course, this program is entirely optional. We can also work in a more traditional and flexible way, tailored to your pace—whether you’re a beginner or simply looking for a more relaxed and gradual approach.
During our first session, we will engage in an in-depth discussion to assess your current playing level and set your short, medium, and long-term goals. Whether you’re a beginner eager to master the fundamentals or an advanced player looking to refine specific aspects of your game, this initial session will provide a personalized roadmap for your progress.
In the following sessions, we’ll focus on the key aspects of your game. We’ll revisit essential principles, refine your openings, explore fundamental strategic concepts, and enhance your tactical skills through a variety of exercises and game scenarios.
Each lesson will serve as a stepping stone toward a better understanding of the game, with carefully designed activities to strengthen your foundations and develop a sharp strategic mindset.
Example Plan:
Session 0: Defining short, medium, and long-term goals.
In this first session, we will set your chess progression objectives together. We’ll also discuss your current playing style and the direction in which you’d like to evolve.
Session 1: Skill assessment.
This session will focus on evaluating your current level through a series of chess exercises and problems. This will help identify your strengths and weaknesses in different phases of the game (opening, middlegame, endgame), serving as the foundation for tailoring the next lessons.
Session 2: Introduction to Imbalances.
We will explore the concept of imbalances (material, positional, dynamic, etc.) and their impact on position evaluation. This approach will enable you to analyze positions more comprehensively and use all available tools to make well-informed strategic decisions.
Session 3: Game analysis using imbalances.
In this session, we will apply the concepts of imbalances from the previous lesson by analyzing your own games. The focus will be on how you managed these imbalances, with suggestions for improving your play.
Session 4: Practical positions and finding plans.
We will work on concrete positions from typical games, aiming to develop strategic plans based on imbalance analysis. The goal is to help you recognize recurring themes and develop effective plans tailored to specific positions.
Session 5: Introduction to endgames (based on the Session 1 evaluation).
Depending on the initial assessment, this lesson will be adapted to your level to introduce endgame fundamentals or deepen your knowledge in this area. We’ll study concrete examples and review essential endgame principles to strengthen your understanding and skills in this critical phase of the game.
Between sessions: Specific materials will be provided to support students’ independent work, including tactical and opening strategies, as well as general tips tailored between lessons.
