About Kyler

With over 9 years of experience teaching piano and a degree in music education, I am passionate about helping students of all ages and skill levels develop their musical talents. I take a personalized approach to teaching, ensuring that each student receives lessons tailored to their unique learning style and musical interests. For beginners, I start by teaching basic techniques, including hand coordination, rhythm, and note reading, to build a strong foundation. As students progress, I introduce more advanced concepts, such as scales, arpeggios, and music theory, to deepen their understanding of music. I incorporate a variety of musical styles in my lessons, including classical, pop, jazz, and contemporary music, so that students are exposed to a wide range of genres. I also place a strong emphasis on ear training, helping students improve their listening skills and play music by ear. Creativity is an important aspect of my teaching, so I encourage students to explore improvisation and composition, allowing them to express themselves through music. Performance opportunities are an integral part of my lessons, and I work with students to build their confidence and prepare them for recitals or public performances. I also offer performance opportunities to help students gain confidence and stage presence, making the learning process both enjoyable and rewarding.
