About Pallavi
Please accept my enthusiastic application. I would love the opportunity to be a hardworking, passionate member of your tutoring program. As soon as I read the description of the program, I knew I was a well-qualified candidate for the position.
I am business administration major who just graduated from USF with a GPA of 3.73.Tutoring is a passion and I have been tutoring USF students.I have been tutoring at the USF Academic Success Center at the USF Library for two semesters and I was a tutor for Business Calculus. Later on, I started tutoring Financial Accounting for the USF Honors College.I also showcased my leadership qualities by undertaking other endeavors such as being part of the USF Street Team, affiliated to the USF Student. During my sophomore year, I became part of the CLCE (USF Center of Leadership and Civic Engagement) as the Bulls Service Break Site Leader. Being an international student and passionate about community service, I was assigned the responsibility of educating the participants on the trip and make sure that their experience was a memorable one. Throughout the trip to the Tennessee Cumberland Trail Conference, I cherished the idea of being able to connect to nature’s fauna and flora as well as doing community service which I greatly dedicated to.
Despite the overwhelming responsibility of being the President of an organization, I always try my best to dedicate my time to other activities and perform all my duties diligently. Pursuing my passion for writing, I am also a columnist in the USF Oracle where I have been writing a few articles on various social issues. Furthermore, to elaborate and highlight the professional development trait within myself, I took part in conferences and boot camps. I participated in the Model Arab League for two consecutive years whereby representing the Delegation of Yemen and Tunisia respectively.
I am passionate about helping students improve in all academic subjects. I still remember my excitement when my calculus student received her first “A” on a quiz! I am confident that my passion and experience are the qualities you are looking for at SuperProf. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Some of my teaching methodologies are as follows.Firstly, I believe in visualization as an especially good teaching strategy for illustrating difficult concepts. For many students, I believe in setting subjects such as calculus, physics or even literature have little connection to their lives, thus keeping it real.As useful as I am to my students, my ultimate aim is to teach them to become independent learners.
The buzzword in both high schools and universities these days is critical thinking: encouraging students to analyze subjects in a deeper, more analytical manner. I do so by asking questions that don’t just have a ‘yes or no’ answer or by applying the Socratic method to point out illogical conclusions made by the student. I also set them assignments that go beyond testing their knowledge/comprehension of a matter; encourage them to voice their opinions on the intelligence of historical figures or on the talent of a famed writer.
Critical thinking does more than give rise to more responsible, creative and profound thinkers; it also raises students’ self-confidence since, perhaps for the first time in their lives, they can feel like their opinions are meritorious of consideration by their tutor and indeed, by other thinkers on a given subject.
This leads to a unique relationship between tutors and students in that it fosters a mentoring approach that makes students feel supported and cared for.I cater the lesson to the student’s learning style, take a look at innovative new ways of teaching and also learn from alternative education methods.
