Undergraduate students will benefit from my fundamental and basic explanations and examples that relate to industry and jurisdiction specific areas. Quantitative methods may be daunting, but it can be simplified through real life cases and studies that relate to each student. Example: Quantitative Data in Research Objectives: By the end of this lesson, learners should be able to: 1. Define quantitative research 2. Give examples of quantitative data Quantitative Data: Quantitative data are numeric measurements. The data are objective- they are the same no matter who measures them. They include measurements such as mass, volume, temperature, distance, concentration, time, or frequency. Example: Suppose a farmer observes the behavior and activities of Pigs in his pen. He identifies different Pigs within the group and observes them every day for a month. He records detailed observations about their behaviors. He observes that there are 5 male pigs and 75 female pigs. Most of the pigs feed at least 5 times in a day. These observations are Quantitative data and will be used to analyze the findings. Conclusion Notice the qualitative data are descriptions, objective and numerical measurements. 1. What is quantitative data in research? 2. Give examples of quantitative data.
