About Joshua
I am finishing up my 4th year studying chemical engineering at BYU. I have really enjoyed my classes and plan to pursue a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, researching catalysis via molecular simulation after I graduate. In my free time I enjoy playing and coaching volleyball-I coached the JV team for Timpanogos High School last year. I love going out on walks with my wife, and watching reality TV. I am passionate about helping people learn and look forward to working with you!

My goal is to help students develop a problem-solving mindset so they can tackle challenges with confidence, not just in class but in real-world situations. Typical Lesson Plan: -Concept Exploration – We break down the topic, discussing not just how it works, but why it matters. -Problem-Solving Strategies – I guide students through examples, teaching how to think through problems step by step. -Active Practice & Feedback – The student applies concepts with my support, reinforcing both understanding and confidence. -Real-World Connections & Mastery – We explore how these ideas apply in engineering, science, and everyday life. What Sets Me Apart: -Results-Driven Tutoring – One of my students went from a 65 on a midterm to a 95 on the final in just one semester. -Patient & Understanding Approach – I adapt my teaching to each student’s pace, ensuring they feel supported and never overwhelmed. -Deep Learning Focus – As a chemical engineering student at BYU, I teach students not just how to solve problems, but how to think like problem-solvers. -Experienced Instructor – I’ve worked as a TA for a chemical engineering computational tools class and have 2 years of experience tutoring high school math students.
