About Ed
I’m a First Class Philosophy graduate from St John’s College, Cambridge. Since graduating, I’ve worked as a research assistant for the Cambridge Centre for Landscape Generation and spent a year travelling solo across Central America — wild camping, hitchhiking, and learning Spanish through full immersion. I'm now fluent and passionate about real-world, conversational language learning. My academic strengths include Philosophy, Spanish, Maths, Religious Studies, and English, and I’ve supported students at a variety of levels — from GCSE to university admissions. I'm friendly, patient, and committed to helping students gain confidence in their own abilities, whether we're tackling essay structure, algebra, or Spanish conversation.

My lessons are relaxed, conversational, and tailored to each student’s goals and learning style. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all tutoring — I listen carefully, ask good questions, and help students understand, not just memorise. For Philosophy students (GCSE, A-Level, university), I focus on developing clear thinking, essay skills, and critical engagement. I’ve helped students prepare for Oxbridge interviews and refine their writing for top academic results. For Spanish learners, I offer practical, confidence-building sessions — particularly focused on real-life conversation skills. I teach from experience, not a textbook, and as a native English speaker, I understand the typical pitfalls and how to overcome them. For GCSE students, I offer support in subjects like Maths, Religious Studies, and English, helping with tricky topics, revision techniques, and exam confidence. Lessons are usually 60 minutes, online, and shaped around what you need — whether it’s long-term support or help with a specific goal. I also offer short free consultations if you'd like to chat before booking.
