My preferred teaching methodology is a theme based student-centered approach that builds on prior knowledge and skills. I adapt my approach based on the needs of the learner and have successfully taught elementary students through project based learning and themes of interest and practical use for adult students.
In 2002 I graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Education degree and majored in Teaching English as a Second Language. I am a certified elementary and secondary school teacher in Quebec. I attended law school and graduated with degrees in Common and Civil Law. I practiced law in Calgary, Alberta from 2009-2018. I currently live in Phoenix and have worked, studied, volunteered and/or travelled in Australia, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Canada, Croatia, Dominican Republic, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Italy, Israel, Luxembourg, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the United States.

Winner of the 2006 National Laskin Moot Competition (University of Ottawa, 2006). The Laskin Memorial Moot Competition is Canada's only national and bilingual moot. In 2006 myself along with three teammates competed and won first place for the best team.

McGill University, Western/Central Turkey (2001) - I submitted the above mentioned research proposals to Professor Lise Winer in the Faculty of Education. With the support of the Turkish Consulate in Montréal, I made contacts in Turkey to help execute my research.
Archaeological Dig, McGill University, Tel Harasim, Israel (2000) - As a team we excavated earth down to the Iron Age and followed up on our findings by studying them through class lectures.
Comparative Religions, McGill University, “Elijah School of Jerusalem,” Jerusalem, Israel (2000) - Focused on major world religions. Research concerning Varieties of Inter-Religious Experience: Children Born of Interfaith Marriages began prior to departure and included interviews with leaders from each faith.
Spanish Language and Cultural Studies, Colegio de España, Salamanca, Spain (1999) - Intensive Spanish language and cultural classes.

Legal Researcher, City of Toronto, Prosecutions Office, Toronto (2006) - Legal research for a variety of files, updated a case precedent book on a vast range of topics, attended court and mediations with senior lawyers. In 2005 I worked part time on files for Charles O’Brien, a solo practitioner in Montréal.
French Immersion & English Teacher, Eardley Elementary School, Gatineau (2002 & 2004) - Taught grade one students in a French immersion context towards the end of their school year. At St. Pius High School, Montréal I taught immigrants with diverse linguistic backgrounds grade seven, eight and nine English simultaneously.
Emergency/Obstetrical & Admitting Clerk, Royal Victoria Hospital & Alberta Children’s Hospital, Montréal & Calgary (1997 - 2002) - Responsible for registering patients and working with the public in emergency and other departments.
Language Monitor, Commission Scolaire de Marguerite-Bourgeois - Lachine (1999 - 2000) - Travelled to three elementary schools per week assisting students with English.
Volunteer Work (1997 - 2017)
• Friends of Puerto Vallarta Animals & SOS el Arca – Helped street dogs in Mexico and later in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Ukraine
• Volunteered in Ukraine at an English Second Language children and youth camp
• Carewest Fanning Centre - Coordinate Taizé international Christian songs and prayers for the patients. Visited and prayed with retired residents at the Eau Claire Retirement Home for several years
• Saint Germaine-des-Près – Helped prepare dinner and dined with the homeless and other volunteers in Paris. Supervised children at the American Cathedral in Paris
• Out of the Cold & Shepherds of Good Hope - Served the homeless
• Hôpital Hôtel Dieu de Montréal - Transported long-term care patients to church Helped a professor and students with computer, language and other Y des Femmes de Montréal Legal Clinic - Answered the phone and carried out other administrative duties
