About Maria Alejandra
I’m Maria and I’m a bilingual swim teacher. I have experience teaching different kids, including kids with adhd and autism, ranging from 12 months to 17 years old. I have been swimming since I was a baby, starting with mommy-me lessons and competing while in elementary school. My professional experience began in 2021 when I became a camp counselor at “Camp La Llanada” where in the same year I completed my lifeguard certification. I also completed my Water Safety Instructor certification from American Red Cross, which I used working as a lifeguard and instructor for the City of Boca Raton.

I focus on achieving small goals through the course of multiple lessons, helping build confidence for the kids in their swimming abilities, as well as teaching them how to be safe around the water. It is very important for me for the kids to understand how to respect the water while all the same time having fun and enjoying the lesson! I use a variety of tools for my lessons, such as song, floating and diving water toys, kick board, etc.

I met Maria while working at a summer camp and have seen her excel in that environment for several years. She is great with kids, super patient, and she's one of the most responsible people I know. She also has tons of experience working as a lifeguard and instructor, so giving swim lessons is right down her alley! I highly recommend working with her.
Maria is a very kind and patient teacher! She helped my girls overcome their fear of going underwater. She was very professional, and was always on time. Very communicative as well, so if a lesson had to be moved or canceled she would always work with us to adjust the times.
