Hi! I’m Rachel, a certified Texas teacher with a background in public relations and a passion for helping students build confidence in English and Social Studies. I specialize in grades 4–8 and love making history feel like storytelling—and writing feel like a superpower. I tailor each tutoring session to meet the unique needs and learning style of the student. My approach blends patience, encouragement, and real-world connections—especially in English and Social Studies, where understanding context and building confidence are key. I use a mix of direct instruction, guided practice, and engaging discussion to help students grasp concepts, think critically, and apply what they learn.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in and review, followed by a focused mini-lesson on the day’s topic (like analyzing primary sources, organizing an essay, or decoding unfamiliar vocabulary). We then move into interactive practice, where I offer support and feedback, and end with a recap and quick goal-setting for next time.
My background in both public relations and classroom teaching helps me break down big ideas and make them relatable. I work best with upper elementary and middle school students (grades 4–8), especially those preparing for STAAR tests, catching up on reading and writing skills, or looking to build strong study habits.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect with students, explain things clearly, and make learning feel less intimidating—and even fun!
