About Zelie
My lessons focus on practical laboratory techniques in Chemistry, emphasizing hands-on understanding through instrumental analysis. We cover key methods like spectroscopy—including NMR, IR, and UV-Vis—chromatography, and quantitative analysis techniques. The goal is to show how these tools are used in real laboratories and industries to solve problems and make discoveries. I take a relaxed and application-focused approach, breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps. You will learn not just theory but also how these techniques apply directly to your work or studies. Whether you are studying chemical engineering or formulating products yourself, these methods become relevant and useful. We explore each technique’s principles and practice interpreting real data from experiments. This helps build confidence in using sophisticated instruments and understanding their results. I emphasize connecting theory with practical examples so you can see the value of these skills in everyday lab work.

I am a Chemistry tutor with over 7 years of experience and hold an MSc in Green Chemistry. My passion lies in helping students master polymer characterization techniques such as Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and X-ray Diffraction (XRD). I specialize in guiding learners to accurately determine molecular weight, thermal properties, and crystallinity of polymers. Understanding the structure-property relationships in macromolecules is a core part of my teaching.
I have worked extensively with students studying materials science, chemical engineering, and polymer chemistry. My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, focusing on practical application and conceptual clarity. I break down complex topics into manageable steps, ensuring students build both confidence and competence.
I enjoy fostering a deep appreciation for how polymer properties affect material performance. Together, we explore how microscopic structures influence macroscopic behaviors. This insight is crucial for research and industry alike.
